A little bit about me

Since 2008, I have worked as instructional designer and e-learning developer. I design online asynchronous training/courses for state agencies, K-12, and private companies. I also work with universities to design and develop online and hybrid courses (both degree and non-degree courses) in a wide variety of subjects. I served on a role of project manager, and have used project management knowledge on daily basis.

I use Articulate Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, and Audacity. I am familiar with several LMS, especially Canvas, Blackboard, and Moodle. My experience includes supporting more than 30 faculty members a semester and developing more than 100 asynchronous e-learning modules.

When in the Master's program, one of my favorite classes is Learning Theories because I found many theories to be practical. Theorists like Ausubel (meaningful learning) answered so many questions I had about human cognitive processing. Having an understanding about learning psychology helps me better appreciate later works from contemporary scholars like Richard Mayer and Ruth Clark.  Read more about Welcome
