Online Course Standards (Checklist) - 2017

While working at University Extended Education, Cal State Fullerton, I created a list of standards that hoped to ensure the quality of online courses. The standards are based on online pedagogy and the university's values. The Standards focuses on six online best practices: Clear expections, effective lessons, meaningful exercises and fair assessment, instructor's presence, peer interaction, and inclusive classroom environment.

Writing Script  (Job Aid)

I created this one-page document based on several resources on writing script for e-learning (that has narration voiceover). This job aid is available for subject matter experts on Student Tutorial project with Learning Systems Institute. The examples I provided were real script sentences sent to me by content experts. I modified some of the sentences to fit with the goal of this document.

Turn It In Workshop Handout  (Instructional Aid)

I developed this handout for a workshop delivered to instructors of College of Public Health, University of South Florida. The College had migrated online courses from Blackboard to Canvas. Turn It In was an application in Canvas that allows students to submit their assignments electronically. It also examines the document for plagiarism. The application was new to the faculty and there were several questions regarding how to use it effectively. I was assigned to lead this workshop with an experienced librarian.

Summary of Survey Results – Students’ Experience of Narrated Lectures (Report)

I wrote this report and submitted it to the director of the office of Educational Technology and Assessment (College of Public Health, USF). This report summarizes key findings of a survey research that I collaborated with a lead instructor of Introduction to Public Health course (College of Public Health, University of South Florida). We hoped to use the data to improve the online lectures for students.

I created this instructional sheet for College of Public Health, USF. This document was made available to students enrolled in courses that require the use of Blackboard Collaborate (a synchronous web meeting application).
